Senior group members of NanoLight awarded with recognition of outstanding doctoral research and dissertation excellence

On April 19th, 2023, the Penn State Department of Electrical Engineering hosted the annual Spring Award Ceremony in the Robb Hall at the Hintz Alumni Center. During this year’s event, Two out of four prestigious awards were given to members of the NanoLight group, with Mrs. Lidan Zhang receiving the Nirmal K. Bose Dissertation Excellence Award, and Mr. Shengyuan Chang receiving the Melvin P. Bloom Memorial Outstanding Doctoral Research Award in Electrical Engineering. Each recipient was awarded a certificate, a department merch, and a prize of $1,000. Both awards recognize the research of the recipients during their Ph.D. studies and featured in their dissertations and are given to senior Ph.D. students near graduation on an annual basis.
