Xingjie Ni

Principle Investigator

Dr. Ni is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Pennsylvania State University since 2015. Prior to that, He was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, working in Professor Xiang Zhang’s laboratory. He completed his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana in 2012, under the supervision of Professor Vladimir M. Shalaev. He received his BS degree in Engineering Physics in 2005 and his MS degree in Automation in 2007 from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. His research interests include modeling, nano-fabrication, and characterization of metamaterials, nanophotonics, transformation optics devices, and computational electromagnetics. Dr. Ni is a member of the Optical Society of America (OSA), the American Physical Society (APS), the Materials Research Society (MRS), and the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE). He is the founder and president of the OSA Purdue University Student Chapter.
